August 1983 issue of Quick Silver Magazine. This is the first issue of this Canadian trade publication covering the amusement game industry. New products include Exidy's FAX video game, Interlogic's ROC 'N' ROPE video game, Sega's CHAMPION BASEBALL video game, Atari's STAR WARS video game, Cinematronics' COSMIC CHASM video game, Williams' MOTORACE USA video game, and Gottlieb's KRULL video game. The inside back cover has a full-page trade ad for Bally Midway's MAPPY video game. The cover pictures several futuristic astronauts crowded around a video game. There's a feature titled "Games Women Play" about which video games are getting the most quarters from women. There's also a feature titled "1993: The More Things Change" about what the amusement game industry might be like in 1993, and another feature titled "The Sega Saga" about the background and history of Sega with a photo of CONGO BONGO on the assembly line. There's also a feature titled "Running with the Pac," about the popularity of PAC-MAN. Other news included in this issue includes the new name of Mylstar Electronics for Gottlieb and the introduction of the round cabinet on Williams' BUBBLES video game. This magazine is in excellent condition.
